An original matching multi-layer production cel and background from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring an ominous close up of the cult-like Solarr, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both pieces create an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the season four episode "Secrets, Not Long Buried," which aired on February 17, 1996. Measuring 9.74"x14" overall, with the character image measuring 7"x8.5", both the cel and background are in very good condition. The cel displays minor scratches, surface wear, line fade, and paper transfer to the reverse of the paint from studio storage. The background overlay displays minor paper transfer on the line work and is taped to the background, which also displays minimal edge and corner wear.
